1. Public Contracts Minister details reforms
Delays in the procedures for the award of public contracts will henceforth be considerably reduced, following reforms in the sector.
This information is contained in a presentation by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Public Contracts, Abba Sadou during the cabinet meeting chaired by the Head of government Philemon Yang.
Minister Abba Sadou also mentioned that in the new public contracts system controls will be intensified to ensure that contracts are executed within the required norms.
2. Djoum – Mintom road work begins in earnest
Construction work has effectively taken off on the 83 kilometer Djoum – Mintom road in the south region.
The road is the second lot of the Sangmelima – Djoum –Mintom road to the border with Congo Brazzaville.
The construction works are expected to be complete in 30 months. So far, heavy duty trucks and caterpillars have been breaking through the thick equatorial forest creating a highway that shall link Cameroon to the Republic of Congo.
