National Deworming Exercise kicks off Monday in Douala

Parents have been called to sensitize their children on the importance of taking drugs that will be administered to them on Monday.

‘You know, a child is a child, and cannot make any decision without consulting the parent’s consent’  Joseph Ndjoh, the onchorcerciasis regional co-ordinator for the Littoral said.

The drug distribution exercise seeks to reduce the number of parasites in each child.

‘ A sick child cannot study properly, so we are conducting this deworming exercise to enable the school-age children study without any disturbance’ Guillaume KOH, Service Head of the Deworming exercise at the Littoral Delegation for Secondary Education, testifies.

The 3 day deworming Exercise which kicks off Monday in the different schools of the Littoral region will round off on  Wednesday, 19th of April 2012.
