SURVEYORS HAVE MEET IN THE 1ST EDITION OF THE NATIONAL WEEK OF LAND SURVEYORS.
The week has been organised to exchange ideas on how to contribute to sustainable development through the use of modern techniques.
The theme of the reflection is ” the contribution of surveyors to land management and sustainable development in Cameroon”.
The Minister of State Property and Land Tenure, Jacqueline Koung a Besike, urged the surveyors to adapt modern methods of work and make concrete contributions in the process of Cameroon becoming an emerging nation by 2035.
Surveyors from the ten regions are reflection on;
• Modern cadastral techniques
• A shift from land measurement to land management
• Reforms needed to resolve land conflicts.
There are close to five hundred surveyors in Cameroon, their main role is to ensure the proper management of land.
The national week of land surveyors is an opportunity to acquaint the public with this very important role and to enhance the sustainable use of land.
