Air transportation: Turkish airlines flies into Cameroon in earnest
The maiden flight between the Istanbul international airport and the Yaounde Nsimalen airport has taken place.
Featuring prominently amongst the personalities on board were the Turkish President of Religious Affairs, Mehmet Gormez and the President of Turkish airlines, Hamdi Topcu.
For a start, the Turkish airliner will sustain four flights a week to Cameroon.
During an audience granted to the President of Turkish airlines, Hamdi Topcu by the Minister of Transport after the inaugural flight, it was indicated that the frequency of the flight to Cameroon shall be extended from the present four to seven days a week.
The air link is expected to boost bilateral cooperation between Cameroon and Turkey in areas of commerce and trade.
