1. Meritorious soldiers promoted to higher ranks
The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in-charge of Defence, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o has urged the Cameroon armed forces to continue working for its development.
He was speaking in Yaounde during a ceremony awarding new epaulettes to some deserving officers of the first military region.
The epaulette award ceremony took place at the Yaounde Military headquarters brigade. Similar epaulette award ceremonies were organised nationwide as it is the custom every 1st of January each year.
2. Public contracts boss installs regional delegates
The Minister Delegate at the Presidency of the Republic in charge of Public Contract, Abba Sadou has urged all parties involved in the execution of Public contracts to shun evil practices like corruption and delay in work.
Mr Abba Sadou was speaking in Bamenda while installing the new Regional Delegate of Public Contracts. The minister called for handwork and quality services in the sector.
3. Measures to prevent floods in the Far North envisaged
The Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi has ended a five-day visit to the Far North Region. During a meeting with stakeholders, the Minister indicated that necessary structures to prevent floods from the river Logone and Lake Chad will soon be built.
4. Local actors trained on prospecting foreign investors
Focal points of the Cameroon Investment Promotion Agency under some Government department have updated their skills on ways of attracting foreign investors to Cameroon.
This was during a two day meeting organised by the Cameroon Investment Promotion Agency in Douala. The Director General of the Cameroon Investment Promotion Agency, Marthe Angeline Minja urged the participants to adequately disseminate information that can bring-in investors into the country.
5. Director of Customs warns against corrupt practices in the South West
The Director General of Customs, Mme Minette Libom Li Likeng was in the South West Region for a working visit. On the occasion, the Director General called on custom officials in the region to desist from corrupt practices and work much harder to generate more revenue for the state.
