2 roles at International Alert – Senior Programme Design and Assessment Officer
2 x Senior Programme Design and Assessment Officer – South & South East Asia / Africa
Salary: £34,342 per annum (more for an exceptional candidate), plus excellent benefits
Based: London, with regular travel to the selected region
We are looking for two enthusiastic and dynamic people to join either our South and South East Asia OR Africa teams.
You will be responsible for pro-actively supporting a team in designing high quality strategies, programmes and projects, securing new funding, and monitoring and improving quality and impact of Alert’s work through better DM&E. You will support growth from our existing regional programs and help to initiate and design new business.
You will be adaptable, creative and innovative, tailoring your approach to the specific characteristics of each opportunity, along with having acquired a keen eye for detail and accuracy. You are knowledgeable about peacebuilding and international development; possess excellent writing skills and a flair for grasping key ideas and actions through a combination of desk research and consultation and discussion with colleagues and partners. You will also have worked in the field, thus drawing on personal implementation and monitoring and evaluation experiences in designing new projects.
In turn Alert will offer you the exciting opportunity to be involved with developing and expanding our presence overseas and be part of a team of peers working in Alert’s programmes to strengthen the quality and impact of our peacebuilding.
Note: The above are some of the requirements for the job. In your application, please indicate the full job title and the team (South and South East Asia OR Africa) of the role you are applying for.
To apply, please send a completed application form and equal opportunities form to firstname.lastname@example.org, both of which can be found under ‘How to Apply’ which is part of the Jobs section of Alert’s website.
Please note we do not accept CVs.
As it is unlikely that we will be able to obtain a Work Permit for this role, all job applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
Closing date: Wednesday 17th April 2013 at 5pm (UK time).
Interviews will take place week commencing 22nd April for the Africa role and week commencing 29th April 2013 for the South and South East Asia role.
While International Alert will endeavour to contact all candidates within a reasonable time, this may not always be possible due to limited resources. Therefore, if you have not heard from us within two weeks of the closing date, you can assume that your application has, on this occasion, been unsuccessful. International Alert is an equal opportunities employer. All applicants will be judged strictly on the basis of merit.
