Manager, Foundation Partnerships:
USF seeks a new Manager, Foundation Partnerships to assist the strategic partnerships team in cultivating, managing and growing its current portfolio of foundation grants. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Foundation Partnerships, the Manager will retain and grow existing foundation partnerships, as well as steward and solicit foundation prospects. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of progressive NGO foundation cultivation and solicitation experience in an international development environment.
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes:
- Retain and grow existing portfolio of foundation partnerships; steward and solicit foundation prospects to secure and grow new funding. Serve as primary contact with foundation donors.
- Manage complete grant cycle process: write complex, high quality grant applications and proposals including budgets; prepare other materials as needed: reports, letters of intent, program briefs, etc; manage submission process and follow-up.
- Communicate with UNICEF HQ and field staff and USF departments to ensure foundation-funded programs are effectively executed and donor’s needs are met.
- Develop and participate in implementation of account plans to maximize grant funding and foundation’s programmatic goals and mission.
- Represent the USF externally with foundation partners and prospects at meetings and presentations, and internally with USF departments.
- Conduct detailed research and collect/analyze, and interpret UN/UNICEF data and information needed for proposals, reports, budgets, etc., utilizing internal and external resources.
- Develop expertise around UNICEF’s mission, approach, structure, and sectoral priorities.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree; advanced degree preferred with a minimum of five years of experience with foundation cultivation and solicitation and a demonstrated track record of achieving defined revenue goals
- Exceptional writing skills — demonstrated success in writing complex proposals
- Proven ability to work under deadline pressure and handle multiple, complex projects simultaneously
- Strong familiarity with current global development issues, UN agencies preferred
- Strong research capacity; ability to interpret, analyze, and represent complex international development issues in donor-friendly language
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills including the ability to effectively liaise with people in diverse multi-cultural environments
- Familiarity with fundraising and donor management software
- Ability to travel within the U.S. and internationally
